    Stagecoach

    Film by John Ford

Classical Hollywood. United States. In English.

A mixed group of travelers crosses Apache territory by stagecoach.

    What it handed down

    To Seven Samurai (1954)

    Stylistic influence, probable.

Kurosawa repeatedly named John Ford as the director he learned from. Seven Samurai's horsemen sweeping across open ground and its band of mismatched fighters under siege draw on Ford's westerns, of which Stagecoach's Apache chase is the best-known example.
